Cons there"s no point: doesn"t reward hard work, cause you don"t know what you"re getting it for, shielding kids from reality. Does nothing for competence really, maybe for younger kids. Arousal: a general state of activation, from deep sleep to extreme excitement, an intensity dimension, neither positive nor negative. How your body is reacting, not anxiety. Three dimensions: physiological (ex. heart rate, breathing, temperature, cognitive (your thoughts, behavioural (what you"re going to do) Affect: a generic term used to describe emotions, feelings, and moods. Mood: persistent feelings experienced over long periods of time. Emotion: a situation-specific response to the environment: short lived and usually not as long as mood, anxiety falls under emotion. The nonspecific response of the body to any demand placed upon it .
