Leadership: the strength of the group reflects the strength of the leaders vince. Trait: leaders are born with personality traits that lead to success in all situations. Behaviour: all great leadership behaviours can be learned. Main idea: great leaders are born with personality traits that make them ideally suited for leadership in any situation, traits are stable characteristics e. g. intelligence, assertiveness, etc. The ruling: research was not able to identify a set of universal leadership traits that apply to all successful leaders, combinations of traits (within one coach or multiple coaches) can be effective in more than one situation. Main idea: leaders are made, not born, anyone can be a great leader by learning the behaviours of an effective leader. Important leader behaviours: consideration: friendly behaviour that generates trust, warmth and respect between leader and subordinates. Initiating structure: emphasis on production behaviour aimed at organizing group members and establishing roles and procedures to carry out the task.
