They felt the movement should be a movement of white men. White men were the ones who stood up to the boss. The labour movement was very explicit on this and the labour movement had a racial identity towards white men workers and other races. Their record when it came to organizing when it came to white men was better. They did most of the organizing work. If you were more radical you were interested. If you were more main stream then you believed it was a white man"s movement. In the 1940s is the first big wave of human rights agitation. The hra happens because of particular groups that need to work together to protect themselves. Human rights campaigns in the 40s were looking for basic protection of minorities. They did not do this for the provisions for themselves, they wanted universal laws. They wanted universal protections to protect them abnd others.
