Because workplaces are not neutral workers are treated differently if they are men or women, gay or straight. Shows the conflation of sexual orientation, sex and gender. Homophobia and heterosexism often underpin sex-based workplace discrimination. Experiences of lgb worker show us that the divide between home and work, public and private is a blurred one. Questions the notion that sexuality is only important in the private sphere.
