Document Summary

Often call themselves conservatives (even though they have the same ideas) Believe in liberty (freedom), wanna make people free to follow their dreams (about the individual) Disagree with how much this freedom is possible, what laws need to be in place. During the industrial revolution they believed that a free market system is best to get this freedom. One of the leading figures (founding figure) when it comes to liberty. Form where peoples creativity, where people decide what they want to do is best. Believed it"s a good thing to have competition (in the workplace, for jobs, etc in a competitive market place) Through this competition you"ll get benefits for the individual who wins, but also the larger population ( invisible hand ) Felt people would look at a general idea, and copy it and change it in some way (make it better, make it cheaper, etc) so they"re always competing getting a new idea.
