Obesity: high levels of leptin bc you have a lot of fat as it comes from your fat cells. If leptin was doing its job then you would not be obese. Leptin is not doing its job: describe the paradox between leptin and obesity. If you are obese, you will have high levels of leptin (leptin (hormone) comes from fat cells) But leptin does not tell the brain to stop eating, thus not doing its job! Insulin, diabetes hormone to lower blood sugar. That was not a mistake, that"s insulin"s job. So leptin can not send the message to the brain because of leptin and makes you hungry, more fat is stored. Higher insulin, more energy you store and the hunger you are get. If you eat 2000 cal and burn 2000 cal = weight will be the same (no gain or lose)
