Nouns, verbs, and adjectives (modules) (open class categories) When you create a word they are often one of these three categories. Examples: the marble, the tree, the song. Following any of the the forms of the verb be. Can be intensi ed with the word very. Some but not all have comparative and superlative forms. Do not always have obvious semantical content. Any word that can appear in the same position as the counts as a determiner. Tells you how much (six oranges is not an example because it comes before a noun) If a word can be replaced by very it is probably a degree word. Conjoin two words or phrases of the same category.
