MEDRADSC 1B03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Fever, Sunburn, Skeletal Muscle
Document Summary
Identify and explain the various types, processes, stages & complication regarding the healing of tissue in the human body. Identify and describe the various aspects of elevated systemic temperature. Fill up the gap recreated by tissue destruction. Types of healing depends on the extend of cell injury, and cells that are injured: resolution, regeneration, replacement. Tissue returns to normal in short period of time. Replacement of injured tissue with cells of the same parenchymal type leaving little or no evidence of injury. Only happens in cell that can divide. E. g. cells of mucus membrane, bone marrow, epithelial cells. Extensive damage of tissue/ cells which do no generate replaced by connective tissue (scar/ fibrous tissue) Cells which continue to divide and replicate throughout life. Results: no or little evidence of injury. Stop dividing when growth ceases, but will regenerate if injured. If frame work present cells will be replaced revert back to normal (i. e. post viral hepatitis)
