Document Summary
Please remove the following: jewellery/piercings (earrings, necklace, etc), dentures, eye glasses, hearing aids, bobby pins, no candy/gum. Be specific & exhaustive in listing extraneous items to be removed. Provide supports as needed to maintain position - it"s the technologists job to ensure the patient doesn"t move. Plan the exam efficiently to minimize duration of time the patient must hold position. Basic routine similar to paranasal sinuses: lateral. Same patient positioning & beam positioning (center at mid-oml) as for lateral view for sinuses. Collimation is more open vertically to include mandible. Include down to the mentum of the mandible - want to see shadow on mandible. Msp - tells us if we have any rotation; if parallel to bucky. = everything si to diagnose any potential injuries. Ioml perpendicular to board - keeps everything centered on the board. Mandible not included in first image - need to open it up. Sponge used to keep interpupillary line perpendicular to the board.
