Made a proposal for an info. management system in march 1989 as he implemented the rst successful communication between a hypertext transfer protocol (http) client and server via the internet. Opte visualization routing paths through a portion of the internet (seen on map of the internet) The connections and pathways of the internet could be seen as pathways of neurons and synapses in a global brain. Node"s can be seen - a connection point with several ip addresses. An ip address is a number that uniquely identi es computers and other devices on a network. Tim was inspired by the free associative possibilities of the brain for his invention. Network of neurons - the basic working unit of the brain, designed to transmit information to other cells transformations of everyday life: Digital technologies are part of the fabric of everyday life and integral to our experience of the world.
