Document Summary
Communicating visually through images, typography, colour, shape, line & texture. The process is mediated through a "world view". A world view is how we perceive and apprehend the world around us and from a specific standpoint. When we actively interpret or read something it is presented in a design context. We impart our world view at a basic level. A designer or creator creates their own world view through the object of artifact. The way in which a design or visual artifact actively seeks to reflect or refute normative beliefs can appeal to an repel particular sensibilities. To be able to read a design correctly does not mean we agree with it. The structure, design, or arrangement of a work of art or piece of writing, as opposed to its content. The meaning or message contained in a creative work distinct from its appearance, form, or style. Have a concept - something for the viewer to catch on.
