Last week beatles early history and how they developed their image. First recording in september 1962, love me do . They recorded their second single in january of 1963. Please please me : only two minutes long, ringo playing the drums, aaba form. Paul and john have studied songs, and written hundreds of songs, so they are very very familiar with all of the song forms you can use. A lot of the early beatles songs follow this pattern: numerous rehearsed details. Putting in all of those self conscious details. Little breaks in between each line, each break is unique and carefully worked out. A lot of changes in textures and changes in approaches: change in rhythmic density in vocal. Beginning of each a section is a slower rhythm than the b section (about half the speed) This makes the b section really stand out.
