Philharmonia orchestra (uk): website includes the sounds of each instrument. Form in music: an aspect of music which changes over time; helps to identify the setting of the music. Usually used to refer to the structure of a piece of music; how its put together in particular ways. Letters are used to indicate common patterns in music. Aba - common in the bourque period (opera) Abaca - common during the late 18th century. The music is divided into sections (a span/duration of time) each letter represents a section. If a section has a different letter, it is signi cantly different, whereas if a section has a letter already used the section is similar to another. Theme: the theme is the topic, typically a melody or phrase that keeps reoccurring throughout the piece. Motive: referring to one or two notes which repeat; shorter in length than themes. Middle ages: (the medieval times); 95% of surviving music from this period is sacred.
