Reading week, sleeping and so on: guiding original lyrics and music, selecting words from a list, if the patient is not able to freely brainstorm because words cant ow easily due to autism or recent brain injury. Then there could be words and the patient picks them out so that you don"t have to rely on their visual ability. Use of pictures are cards: client self generates words, client writes poem, open ended or direct questions, e. g. what are some things you could do over reading week, what would you like to do over summer. They are not yes or no and they bring notes of words to the forefront to facilitate song writing. *all depends on the client: process might take a few sessions before instruments can be used, song writing techniques, fill in the blanks e. g. the client like you are my sunshine , song parody, song collages, pre-existing lyrics.
