Recap: talked about ethics, people are interested in looking out for the welfare of their communities, positive morality. Positive morality: the set of rules, principles, values, and beliefs, which are embedded in a community"s social processes and which identify what counts as right and wrong behaviours for the members of a community. Helpful, but may be vague (abortion, grey area issues) Can also be wrong (national systems like apartheid south africa, hitler"s. Ethics is about one applying their powers of reason: critical morality. Business ethics: the study of how to behave within those situation where people might be helped or harmed by our business decisions. Idea of business ethics may be straightforward, but some argue that business is exclusive from ethics: amateur arguments: Law: business has law, but only believable if you don"t know about the law: legal systems aren"t always right, legal systems aren"t complete. Not illegal to cheat on spouse, though obviously immoral.
