Ethics is concerned with using out powers of reason to gure out what really counts as the right course of action in any given scenario: ethics is often used to criticize positive morality. Instructions about how to think, test them, and wherever the instructions lead us astray tells us how to change the instructions. Business ethics: the study of how to behave within those situations where people might be helped or harmed by our business decisions. Why business can"t rely on law: legal systems are not always moral. Landlord rent raising: legal systems are never complete. They do a pretty good job, when not corrupt, most of the time. Unpaid internships: never faced before, 20 years, legal loophole, 24 hours of work can be legal. Tax code catching up with loopholes: no legal moralism. It was previously believed to be the job of the law to control morality in society (example, adultery)
