Political realism worry about morality laws state way have to show people violence to show them the importance of the state: what explains politics is power only, main task is to provide security to people and the state. Pacifism: war is always wrong on environments, indirect victims physically and psychologically beings violence, for example deal with injustice cases. Norms war: loac (law of armed conflict) Institutions: un security council, nato, domestic military courts. Icrc (international committee of red cross) outweigh the harms of the war: self-defense, defense of a third party, humanitarian intervention. Examples of jus ad bellum reasons to go into war (moral or immoral: necessity (last resort) - cannot be any other way of achieving the aim other. Examples of jus in bello reasons in war: than war, all other options have to be exhausted the ability or right to do so declare war wrong rape civilians: use of weapons - biological weapons are prohibited, etc.
