Express a point of view and provide reasoning (an argument) Categories that comprise of ethical theory: consequentialism: The view that makes something good or bad or right or wrong. Is the consequences that it brings about, doing things like bringing about profit actually achieves the goal of behaving ethically: deontology: Actions have a moral quality in of themselves. Immanuel kant, doing the right thing can lead to bad to everyone bc doing the right thing is different from letting the world continue: character (virtue ethics): Habits of action, to focus on the person themself than the action. Useful when applying ethical theory when speaking about business ethics and what it is. For most of the time 1 & 2 were the main focus. Utilitarianism: the good bring about happiness to the most people in the long run, maximises happiness. Could a collective group have an ethical standing.
