Hundred media releases out there: news pick about 4. Try to be aware of political news in canada and on. Online newspapers: may miss things that were in printed newspapers. 3 tracks: development of theories of political communications, guest speakers, skill development. For now: process and good structure of media release, not substance: not fact checking, more interested in structure and process. Journalists have to work much harder: printed content and digital as well interview, tape record it, they do it all: not something most people want to stay into unless very successful. Media releases: attempt to get news stories which are more believable than entertainment. Political communications campaign kicked off with media release and communication. Who"s the communicator: organization, association: spokesperson letterhead with organization. Media/news release : tells the press this is for you , to get to a larger target audience, go through news editors immediate audience is the press and news editors first.
