Last book nietzsche wrote before he had a permanent mental breakdown, after he saw a horse collapse attached to a cart. This is nietzsche s version of nietzsche s key ideas. Aim: reevaluation of morals and a rejection of metaphysics. His work is about what you create and invent. But it is a scathing attack on existing morals. Metaphysics idea that there s a physical world but there s also a superior, higher world (plato). Anything that you can describe with a capital t truth is a big target. These questions, to nietzsche, are as nonsensical as questioning what something s meaning is. Once you ask the question, it s easy to imagine that there s an answer. We re living in the echo of the nietzschean project succeeding. Nietzsche is writing against nihilism, he s writing against the hopelessness of his era. Nihilism is the void we face when meaning and values are stripped from the world.
