(page 235) > jefferson represents the hero for her political freedom. Paradox of revolution: if you overthrow tyranny, you want to set up something that lasts because you have chaos after. (page 236) > if you don"t have ur own revolution ur just living under someone else"s rules, ur not free because you didn"t build ur own rules. What she observes is that every revolution starts with a moment in which all power dissolves to local council bc if its a real revolution the rulers would be overthrown.
