• Psychophysics in the article refers to the psychology of the mind and physics of the brain
• Reductionism- No model of the brain can account for the subjective nature of the mind
• We cannot know the subjective state of the bat because we lack the sensory apparatus
to echolocate
• With regard to the relation between an objective view of the world and a subjective
view- an objective understanding will not help us understand subjective view
