Warm atenive parening: social competence, internalizing, externalizing behaviours. Causal mechanisms: temperament of child; like dislikes, extra/introversion, coninuity of caregiving quality, emoion regulaion styles, internal working model; shaping behaviour to others, emoional regulaion toward others, etc, secure atachment believe caretaker is supporive, will always be there. Insecure atachment=cannot trust caretaker, not nurturing or supporive. Childlessness by choice has no negaive impact on subjecive well being swb. 43 naions, # children related slightly to swb: no disincion made between childlessness by choice of circumstances, no indicaion of causal direcion. Only children do not have lower swb; may have higher swb. Meta-analysis shows only children beter adjusted than middle children. Low warmth, hih hosility= lower swb, more externalizing, poorer peer relaionships. Why the efect of marriage on swb: swb may inluence events in marriage, higher swb=greater chance of marriage, marriage=emoional support, less stress, social support for marriage.
