Malinowski (1929) on what trobriand islanders find attractive: untouched by western culture and still showed the same rpeferences. What do men prefer: light, long, shiny, voluminous etc. What does healthy hair signal: hair signals health. Older women rated lower while women who reported good health were rated. Dishonest signalling: products that fool men higher. What do men prefer: light skin tone. What does healthy skin signal: the nicer the skin the more attractive we find them, van den bergh & frost (1986)
