Alice yu: the ability to form categories and concepts allows efficient navigation through the world. Superordinate: most general, higher chance for accuracy, low predicative power. Subordinate: most specific, lower chance for accuracy, high predictive power. Snowtroopers: basic is the most abstract level at which objects have similar shapes, expertise determines speed of category verification, if they are experts in that specific category, they can categorize very quickly in the subordinate level. Categorization interacts with schema: schemata help us connect new information to our prior knowledge and provide a framework for category membership.
