Attitudes are built in, no one has to teach us to build an attitude- they serve a psychological function. Generally associate three things- affect, behavior and cognition- what is the relationship between attitude and these three things. Not the same as attitude- judgment being the only one close to meaning attitude. An attitude is an evaluation, whether it is positive or negative- making it different from a belief or opinion. In phone vs. face-face- more acquiescence in phone interviews: response wording effect, ronald regan election. Consistency- relationship between the three domains of attitude. Consequences of accessibility: accessible attitudes are more stable over time, accessible attitudes are more resistant to persuasion, accessible attitudes are more consistent with behavior.
