Prior to this point, have been talking about material that is mostly objective, empirically testable, etc. and is part of the more scientific aspects of forensic psych. This part of the course: deal with clinical aspects of forensic psych. Canadian criminal code definition of fitness to stand trial: What does this mean: several definitions. *don"t need to remember these in detail just know canadian and us standard are very similar. Specific issues in fitness to stand trial evaluations (canadian standard). 5 days allowed typically for evaluation of fitness: extension is possible to 30 days, detention never exceeds 60 days. Four types of fitness assessment instruments: tests for psychopathology (mental illness) Mmpi: most widely used instrument used for assessing psychopathology.
