The common view in psychiatry is that the normal state is to be happy and anything else is dysfunction. Organisms are not designed to enhance their own survival; they want to propagate their genes, whether or not those are their own genes or that of their close relatives. Therefore, will make trade-offs with survival when doing so propagates genes. Males become sexually active at early age and mate during early november. Although men provide parental investment, men are still the less investing sex. Women cannot reproduce as rapidly as men and men compete for access to reproductively aged women. Due to this competitiveness, men are more likely to engage in risky behaviour. More energy is devoted to mating, and less energy is devote to defense, repair and maintenance.
