Romans 4 paul talks about abraham because he was regarded as righteous, so some people would say he was righteous cause of works but no paul argues he was righteous by faith. Genesis 15 abraham believed god and it was counted to him righteousness. Big point you do not have to be circumcised to be righteous because he was righteous 2 chapters before being circumcised. Paul says abraham could be the father of gentiles & jews because he was righteous before circumcision (gentiles) and later became circumcised (jews)
