To show that abortion is, except possibly in rare cases, seriously immoral, that it is in the same moral category as killing an innocent adult human being (marquis, 183) Pro-life arguments: killing innocent human beings is immoral, a fetus has a genetic code that makes it a human being, therefore, abortion is equivalent to killing an innocent human being, and thus, immoral. Pro-choice arguments: killing innocent human beings is immoral, a fetus is not a human being, therefore, abortion is not equivalent to killing an innocent human being, and thus, not necessarily immoral. Common reasons: it corrupts the killer, but this doesn"t answer our question, it causes suffering to the people still living. What primarily makes killing wrong is neither its effect on the murderer nor its effect on the victim"s friends and relatives, but its effect on the victim (189) It deprives the victim from the value of his/her future
