Force is usually the first vehicle we use in society. Looking at the us election you can see who"s voting for who and why. Girls have now been charged with more things because there"s no tolerance; being charged with criminal behaviour. What the intro says is that you want to understand why it would seem males as the delinquent ones, and females are normative in their behaviour. Girls seem to be doing abnormal behaviour that doesn"t harm anyone initially (ie. promiscuous, femme fetal) So they"re running away from home, sometimes abusive situations, not running to streets but away from home; romanticized- find love. They"re delinquency is not the same as boys (boys-public order threat; ie. damaging public property, they are seen as threat to society) Girls are using their womanliness as cultural capital. Girls have a weak family life in terms of mothers not in position/power of authority and they can run away.
