A building had a lot of issues, the government put them in the building and gave them no resources, got a bad reputation, no body ever talked about there strengths, the neighbors were really close and willing to help, Ex. Bad area in Toronto – there in a lot more dynamic community involvement – highlight these capacities We need to make sure, that find the voices that don’t get heard and make them heard Ex. Hamilton was revising housing policys, they wanted to know whatthey needed to do, CHECK they have been advocating for housing , they became the floks we often hear from but we dint hear from other communityes (youth young mothers) Find ways to connect to people outside the box Make sure we stretch out who is not being heard ( United in colour – perspective of people in colour not being heard , became a community) Action Planning and mobilization – making an action plan, making the steps to make change they have to be SMART, and balance out the different priorities people have, everyone has different priorities, finding the top priorities, do visioning and brainstorming find all the best ideas, key priorities, what are the actions, what do we want to see, everyone is involved, actually doing the door to door organizing getting people to take part in the change. A good portion of the people have to be concerned and involved Evaluation- we want to know was the ressources useful are they exited about the change what are the next steps, was the work useful and establish wether or not were going to keep working achive one
