Decentering the artist and examining art as a social. Distinguishing between re ection and shaping/production approaches: how does art bear the imprint of society, artists are not special, art and culture are not special. How does art reflect society: our cultural productions directly mirror the society that is constructed, created and which we live in. Example of how art mirrors society: for example, the painting of the mona lisa. The most famous attribute of this painting is her smile: a re ection theorists said the mona lisa was painted to re ect ideas of beauty. Mona lisa"s smile is closed for a speci c reason: portraits were done by the wealthy and wanted to be re ected in a positive manner. Therefore, the photo re ects the dental care and idea of beauty at this time: for example, ction. They mirrored the household this way for another reason: (1) allowing the plot to develop and create action.
