On politics - to change the world. He brought theory into this new left. The science question in sociology: a craft - in between. Mills thought he wanted to look at the bigger picture. Sociology should be historical it changes over time and he wants to focus on happened all over the world; protests on campus, freedom of speech, civil rights activists.
