Criticisms of sociological theory include: symbolic interactionism places too much emphasis on social structure, con ict theory overemphasizes gender-based inequalities, structural functionalism places too much emphasis on inequality, feminist perspectives that rely on the concept of par. They help to advance sport globally, in the country that hosts the games, increase funding for amateur sports, help to establish better infrastructure in the country that hosts + tourist revenue. Some countries can only afford to send a small number of olympic athletes thus leading to the assumption that countries that can afford to send more athletes have a better chance of winning medals. Numerous symbols are associated with different olympic games. Be very interested in how athletes prepare themselves before a competition, athletes very superstitious. Tracy chapman- talking bout a revolution: re ects some of the key ideas of con ict, welfare lines, those waiting for a promotion; highlighting the working class.
