Marxist feminist theory - how women"s unpaid labour supports capitalism. Inclusive feminism: argues we need to include the experiences of all women ex. Violence against women: often connected to social structures. Male violence against women is rooted in gender inequality. Need to look at social structure and socialization. 63% of all woman killings in ontario 1974-1994 were intimate femicide. Risk factors: estrangement (trying to or have recently broken up), common-law status (cohabiting), aboriginal women, male unemployment, history of violence. When men aren"t the breadwinners of a family some may feel to asset their masculinity/ power through violence. Motives: rage, in delity, chronic abuse, stressful life events, mental illness. Intimate femicides are more likely to involve extreme and sexualized violence, be followed by suicide, involve additional victims, multiple methods.
