Social psych of social deviance (jan 18-jan 25) Use of eugenics was not a practice that hasn(cid:495)t stopped in the present day. Deviance is hereditary: dugdale (cid:883)9(cid:883)(cid:882) studied the fam known as the (cid:498)jukes(cid:499) Consisting instead of over 40 fams w. only 540 of its 700 members related by blood. Huge fam connections and ultimately became a fundamentally study of eugenics, psychological study, etc to see how fams members would deviate. Likelihood that one would make a deviant act whole have prevented if we were able to? feel socially undesirable for oppression. Many ways to manipulate society & sterilize a group in society: human sense & human liberty, smth that should not have happened, what could we have done to. Related to eugenics movement, this has been pop in history (ww2, nazi practices, etc. more modern day eugenics movement) Led to a nationwide moral crusad in favour of sterilization as ultimate solution to problem of hereditary criminality.
