Sociology 2e06 race and ethnic group relations. How does place amplify race: how does racial segregation impact racialization and race-based deprivation, are they all forms of racial segregation, walks borne. Does race" matter by miles and torres (2007) If race" matters, then races" must exist as the reading states: but if there are races" then race cannot matter. Things believed to exist have a real existence and thus real consequences. Argues that this scientific knowledge hasn"t really been understood by the general public: it"s the public who makes the distinct between races, racial classifications. Thomas theorem: if men define situations as real, they are real in their consequence.
