What is globalization: can be defined as the process of integrating nations and peoples into larger economic, political and social processes. The development of globalization theories: the term globalization has only been around for about 30 years. However for a long time prior various scholars have been addressing issues what we now call globalization. Early theoretical ideas: in the 1860s karl marx wrote about capitalist expansion. Capitals would try and concur new world markets. Talcott parsons developed another theory called modernization theory the basic idea was that all societies will inevitably follow the same path of economic, social and cultural development as the us. Later theoretical theories: in the 1960s, andre gunder frank developed dependency theory. Frank suggested that latin american countries will remain in a state of underdevelopment because they are subjected to exploitation by the us.
