First reading is to do w understanding gender and inequality. Lots of financial and sexual interest: particularly women and young boys. Steered towards marriage and child bearing: genital mutilation. Obstacles in employment sector: esp if they are married. Even though theyre most likely to be assaulted in the home: not paid equally, more likely to face harassment, women in public roles are often criticized, how they"re dressed. 3 ways women are treated unequal (public: 1. Media representations: gendered perspective, media is framed in a way that it upholds patriarchal views, reflects male interests, women are subjected to problematic binary, represented as passive characters, music, makes for a damaging reality. Self rejection if you don"t love yoself how u gonna love somebody else. March 4, 2019 inequality access to resources and social mobility. Still inequality and power insecurity of women in power roles. Is it safer: different kind of inequality. Power dynamics change: competition, more sabotaging, matriarchy exists.
