Gramsci thought that the dominant group would be linked with the capitalist class and the subordinate groups would be linked to the working class and its allies. It"s a useful concept that can be applied to relationships beyond the capitalist class and working class. Some race sociologists use gramsci"s ideas to consider the relationship between whites and minority groups. What is globalization: can be defined as the process of integrating nations and peoples into larger economic, political and social processes. Has only been around for the last 30 years or so.
