Demand for domesic servants declined through 19th century. The foreign domesic movement (fdm) program (1981) The use of domesic workers is problemaic because of: The treatment of the workers themselves, and the families and the children they leave behind. The quality of care that children are provided is not regulated. It coninues to relieve to government from responsibility. It leaves housework and childcare as a woman"s problem. It reinforces divisions based on: gender, class, race, and ciizenship. 10 key research findings: women do more unpaid work, gender inequaliies persist among dual-earner families. Couples agree that person with higher earnings will do less housework and childcare. Limitaion: conlict and dissaisfacion do not support idea that couples agree to this. Person with lower income will have less power to resist doing housework.
