35 views2 pages

Document Summary

Panning shot= the camera rotates on a vertical axis but does not move through space. Tilt shot= the camera rotates on a horizontal axis. Producing a vertical movement on screen (like your head nodding) Tracking/ dolly shot: the camera moves, camera has unlimited mobility on the ground, provide an increased sense of movement. Crane shot/aerial shot: when the camera moves above the ground into the air, extends mobility of the camera in up and down motion, beyond what any tracking shot can provide, duration of image. The length of any shot is associated with the concept of editing: an unbroken shot has editing applied to it. Relationship of duration of image to editing suggests it should be talked about with editing. Most common reason to move the camera is to follow the character and reveal the space. Or reveal the space the story will take place. Camera framing catches and draws your attention.
