He was gay - came out in high school. He was in the lgbt student alliance in college. He took a trip to morocco with friends, was raped, beaten and robbed by a gang of locals. His attack was due to his homosexuality, his involvement in the lgbt. Student alliance, short/body structure + his minority group status. Went to a gay-friendly bad on october 6, 1998. Brutally beaten, keys were robbed, he was pistol whipped: tied to fence and lit on fire. His injuries were so severe that doctors could no operate. He was put on life support but ultimately died. Henderson + mckinney = attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery: girlfriends = accessories to murder, after he died, changed to 1st degree murder. Death penalty was still sentence for first degree at the time in wyoming. Henderson = 2 life sentences + no chance of parole, two concurrent life sentences: threw mckinny under the bus to avoid death penalty.
