Kin selection: behaviour that helps a genetic relative is favoured by natural selection. Norm of reciprocity: expectation that helping others will increase the likelihood of others helping us in the future. In-group: a group with which an individual identifies with, and of which they feel as a member of. Out-group: a group with which the individual does not identify with. Why do we help others: evolutionary perspectives/explanation like genetic heredity and kin selection, empathy: the ability to experience events and emotions the way another person experiences them.
