BUSI 3310 Lecture Notes - Lecture 9: Reinforcement, Problem Solving
Document Summary
Learning occurs when practice or experience leads to a relatively permanent change in behavior potential. Practice or experience prompts learning which stems from an environment that gives feedback concerning the consequences of behavior. Employees learn 4 general types of content: practical skills, job-specific skills, knowledge, and technical competence require to perform one"s job, intrapersonal skills, problem solving, critical thinking, and risk-taking, interpersonal skills. Interactive skills such as communication and teamwork: cultural awareness, the cultural norms and expectations that exist in an organization. Occur when the subject learns to operate on the environment to achieve certain consequences. Controlled by the consequences that follow it: usually contingent on the behavior and this connection is what is learned. Can be used to increase the probability of desired behaviors and to reduce or eliminate the probability of undesirable behaviors. Increases or maintains the probability of some behavior by the application or addition of a stimulus to the situation in question.
