White elephants were rare in india awhile ago. They all belonged to the king unless he gave one away as a gift: would give them to someone who he felt was a threat to him politically. They are having drinks in a restaurant and arguing over whether or not the woman should have an abortion. The man is cold and wants the abortion but doesn"t want to take responsibility if anything should go wrong. The woman wants her life to grow and knows that it is more than the procedure that needs to be considered. The woman loves the man, but the man does not appear to love the woman. The woman wants the man to tell her that he wants her and he always will. She wants him to address that they"re a couple, but he doesn"t. He thinks that she"s trying to manipulate him and that she is too dependent upon him.
