Limitations to assuming a purely legal de nition of youth crime. The legal de nition give a very vague meaning to youth crime limiting it"s scope theoretical insight. Limiting the age at 18 doesn"t adequately account for todays generation for youth crime. Many crimes committed by youth are hard to prosecute because they lack su cient evidence and gravity. Implementation varies by provence being in uenced by public pressure, police administration and personal. Records of crime can only account for the crimes that have been recorded, not accounting for the dark gure of crime. Vary by social and economic factors such as society interest towards law and the weight of the o ence. The implementation of the youth in the justice system is impacted highly by societies perception of youth crime (ex. Rapidly evolving crimes through technology which may not be fully recognized as a crime cannot legally be punished.
