This is among the more challenging positions in today"s television news- gathering environment o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o. A day in the life of a videographer . Videographers need to have a good knowledge of current issues in the city/region, an understanding of news values, and a grasp of news-gathering and writing principles. The news director, producers, reporters and other videographers meet to discuss the days top stories. The videographer then shoots the story in an eicient and visually interesting manner. Special attention is paid to content, shot composition, lighting, and sound. Stand-ups can be done to open, close, as a bridge, or. The videographer keeps her/his own raw footage log. Having completed shooting the content (interviews, action, visuals) and the stand-ups, the videographer returns to the station. After reviewing the footage, the videographer writes the story and any voice-over narration required.
