Document Summary

The most dramatic effect of the reformation was europe divided. It was expected that you would participate at tleast periodically at church. After the beginnning of the 16th century there is a division -protestantism and catharsism. The foundation of handfuls of protestant religions and churches. A fractury effect rather than a binary divide. To some extent there is a breakdown in the pre reformation internationaliosm of europe. The learner lanfguage remained latin for a period of the ddivide. The countires that broke off wanted more means of seperation. In each locality, this served to increase repression. Wanted people to obey what you put in place of the old religion. A political fear that if everyone can make up their own mind about religion, then why cant they do that about anything. Calvin burned people in juneva who didn"t agree with his ideals. The second important effect was a state of war in the century after the reformation.
